The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood.
So far I’m really enjoying it. Seeing as I like books with a slightly feminist twist, the fact that Marian is trying to fight convention (thus far, at least) by avoiding marriage is nice. In fact, she seems to be a closeted commitment-phobe.
Ainsley, Marian’s roommate, wants to have a baby… without the marrying nonsense. And Len (Marian’s college friend who also cannot be bothered by marriage and commitment) has just been introduced as a possible partnering.
Marian, as a woman who is not hellbent on marriage, is dating a man who watches [in horror] as his friends are married off one by one.
I’m only a quarter of the way through, so that’s all I have so far.
